Silentó, born Ricky Lamar Hawk, is an Atlanta-based rapper who debuted with the viral single “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” in 2015. The track peaked at #3 on the US Billboard, and was certified quintuple Platinum by the RIAA. The song also started a dance crazy, which boosted the popularity of the song, giving the video over 500 million views on YouTube in less than a year. He signed with Capitol Records shortly after, where he will release his debut album.
