Zack Greinke is an American professional baseball player born in Orlando, Florida on October 21, 1983. He is currently a pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks in the MLB and has played for the teams the Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and Los Angeles Dodgers. He was drafted by the Royals in the 2002 MLB draft after winning the Gatorade National Player of the Year Award in High School. He played his major league debut game in 2004 with the Kansas City Royals in a game against the Oakland Athletics. He played in his first winning game in the major leagues on June 8, 2004 against the Montreal Expos. In 2010 he was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers, but injured himself and started the 2011 season on the disabled list. In 2012 he was traded to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. After the 2012 season he signed a $147 million free agent contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. While with the Dodgers, he picked up his 100th career win on August 5, 2013. He opted out of the last three years of his contract with the Dodgers and became a free agent in 2015. That same year he signed a six-year, $206.5 million contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks where he plays now. Throughout his career he has won 5 Gold Glove Awards, a Silver Slugger Award and an AL Cy Young Award.
