Sebastian Yatra was born on October 15, 1994 in Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia. His family relocated to Miami, Florida when he was five years old and he began to show a genuine interest in music when he started studying guitar and piano. His first real single, “El psicólogo,” was released in 2013 and made it onto top charts across Latin America. This song got Yatra a bit of fame, and he was invited to tour with Paty Cantú on her Drama Queen Tour. His subsequent single “Para olvidar” was released and yet again gained him a lot of followers. In 2015 and 2016, Yatra released more popular songs including “Como Mirarte” and “Traicionera,” the latter of which hit top charts and platinum charts all throughout the world, including throughout Europe. In 2017, he was nominated for two Latin Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album.
