Nef The Pharaoh, born Tonee Hayes, is a Bay Area rapper who has been active since the mid-2010s. He was brought into the industry through legendary Bay Area rapper E-40, who featured him on the 2014 album Sharp On All 4 Corners. This earned him statues of Bay Area Freshman Of The Year after a contest by popular vote. In 2015 he released “Big Tymin’,” a bounce music-inspired number that gained acclaim online. The track became the lead single to his self-titled debut EP, which was released on E-40’s label Sick Wid It in 2015.
