William Sadler is an American actor born in Buffalo, New York on April 13, 1950. He is best known for his roles in the films and shows Man on a Ledge, Eagle Eye, The Shawshank Redemption, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Iron Man 3. His acting career started performing in New York theaters. In the 12 years he worked in New York theaters he appeared in over 75 productions. In 1977 he made his debut on television in the show The CBS Festival of Lively Arts for Young People and continued landing roles in shows like Nurse, Private Eye, Dear John, Roseanne, Third Watch, Law & Order, Numb3rs, Traveler, Damages, and many more. He made his debut in film in 1982 in the movie Hanky Panky and has also been in the films Die Hard 2, Trespass, Solo, RocketMan, The Mist, Eagle Eye, Man on a Ledge, The Hollow, The Highwayman, Iron Man 3, among others. Throughout his career he has been nominated for several awards and has won a Saturn Award two Diamond Awards, a Platinum Award, and more.
