Shruti Haasan is an Indian film actress and singer born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India on January 28, 1986. Hassan works prominently in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi language films. She started her career at six years old singing songs for her father’s films. She has provided music for the films Thevar Magan, Chachi 420, Hey Ram, En Mana Vaanil, Luck, Hiss, Unnaipol Oruvan, and others. Hassan is also the lead singer for the alternative rock band The Extramentals. She made her acting debut in 2000 in the film Hey Ram and continued landing roles in the films 7aum Arivu, 3 Oh My Friend, Luck, Balupu, D-Day, Yevadu, Poojai, Aagadu, Gabbar Is Back, Puli, Vedalam, Rocky Handsome, Premam, Power, Tevar, Race Gurram, Laabam and more. Throughout her career she has been nominated for a number of awards and has won four SIIMA Awards, two CineMAA Awards, an Edison Award and others.
