Ricky Rubio Vives was born on October 21, 1990. He is a Spanish professional basketball player from El Masnou, Catalonia, Spain. He plays the point guard position for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He got drafted by The Minnesota Timberwolves as the fifth overall selection in the 2009 NBA draft. He played for various teams like Joventut Badalona from 2005 to 2009, FC Barcelona from 2009 to 2011, and the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2011 to 2017 before signing to the Utah Jazz.
Vives has won a lot of awards including the EuroLeague champion (2010), ULEB Cup champion (2008), Spanish League champion (2011), FIBA EuroChallenge champion (2006), NBA All-Rookie First Team (2012), Mister Europa Player of the Year (2008), Spanish League Most Spectacular Player (2010), FIBA Young Player of the Year (2007–2009) and FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship MVP (2006).
