Ranking Roger, born Roger Charlery on February 21st, 1963 in Birmingham, England is a British musician and singer. He specializes in the genres of ska, punk rock, and electronica. He became a fan of punk rock as a teenager and joined up with the sk band The Beat in the 1970’s. Together they released three albums called I Just Can’t Stop It in 1980. In 1981 they released an album called Wha’ppen? In 1982 they followed up with the album called BEat Service.
In 1983 he and fellow band member Wakeling formed the group General Public. They released an album called Rub It Better. In 1988 Ranking Roger released his first solo album called Radical Departure. In 2001 he released another album called Inside my Head. After 2013 he returned to the band The Beat and continued to collaborate with them.
