Mike Colter is an American actor born in Columbia, South Carolina on August 26, 1976. He is best known for his role as Luke Cage in the films, Luke Cage, The Defenders, and Jessica Jones. His debut in television was in 2002 in the show ER, he has since landed roles in series like Law & Order: Trial by Jury, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Royal Pains, The Following, Criminal Minds, American Horror Story, Halo: Nightfall, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Good Fight, and more. His debut in film was in 2004 in the Oscar winning film Million Dollar Baby alongside Morgan Freeman, Hilary Swank, and Clint Eastwood. He has also been in the movies Brooklyn Lobster, Salt, Men In Black 3, Zero Dark Thirty, Girls Trip, Black and Blue, among others. For his role of Luke Cage in the television series Luke Cage and The Defenders he was nominated for a Saturn Award, a Black Reel Award, an MTV Movie Award, and two NAACP Image Awards.
