Hailing from Johannesburg, South Africa, is the band KONGOS, comprised of the brothers Johnny, Jesse, Dylan, and Daniel Kongos. The brothers released their debut album, which was self-titled, in 2007. In 2012, the brothers released Lunatic, their sophomore effort, preceded by the single “I’m Only Joking”. The single received tremendous attention in their native South Africa, and enjoyed much national airtime. It was not until late 2013, however, that the album was released in the United States, and the next year KONGOS was signed to Epic Records. All four of the brothers provide the vocals to their songs, while Johnny plays the accordion and keyboard, Jesse on drums, Dylan on bass guitar, and Daniel on guitar. They have spent the majority of their career in London, South Africa, and in Arizona.
