Joel Hans Embiid was born on March 16, 1994. He is a Cameroonian professional basketball player from Yaoundé, Cameroon. He plays the center position for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He attended high school at Rock School in Gainesville, Florida and then he played college basketball for Kansas. He joined the Philadelphia 76ers in 2013. He has won awards including the NBA All-Rookie First Team in (2017), Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year (2014), Second-team All-Big 12 (2014), Big 12 All-Defensive Team (2014) and
Big 12 All-Newcomer Team in (2014).
