Joe Russo’s Almost Dead is composed of Marco Benevento, Dave Dreiwitz, Tom Hamilton, Scott Metzger, and former drummer for Furthur, Joe Russo. The band was formed in Brooklyn, New York in 2013 and it is also known as JRAD or Almost Dead.
The group held its first show in Brooklyn Bowl in January 2013 during the Freaks Ball XIII’s second night. In 2014, the band performed in various festivals including Florida’s Hulaween Festival, Connecticut’s Gathering of the Vibes, and Calfornia’s Strictly Blur Grass Festival. The year 2015 saw more performances in various festivals across the country. The band appeared on Jam Cruise the year after, they also played several shows at the Freak’s Ball XVI bowl.
Rolling Stone named Joe Russo’s Almost Dead as the Best Scene-Stealer for their performance at the Peach Festival.
