Allen Iverson was born on June 7th, 1975 in Hampton, Virginia. While his basketball talent began to show as early as in high school, it was at Georgetown University that the world started to take him seriously. Allen’s start in the NBA started in 1996 when he played for Philadelphia 76ers. The 6ers flourished under his captainship and played in the playoffs multiple times. Allen joined the Denver Nuggets for two years (2006-2008) before resuming his role at the Philadelphia 76ers in 2009 for a year. In 2010 he joined the Turkish team Besiktas before officially retiring in 2013. He stopped playing by 2012. His leadership and skill earned him multiple NBA titles such as the NBA Rookie of the year (1997), NBA MVP (2001), and 11-time NBA All-Star.
