Vontaze Burfict was born in Los Angeles, California on September 24, 1990.
He went to Centennial High School where he was part of the team Huskies. In 2008, USA Today ranked the team as second in the nation. The team also won a state championship and a CIF title. He went to the Arizona State University in 2009. He qualified for the university in 2010. He was named as the midseason defensive MVP of Arizona State by ESPN.
He signed a contract with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted agent in 2012. He finished his rookie year as the top tackler in the Bengals, and he played in all 16 games. In 2014, he signed a contract extension with the Bengals. He signed another contract extension in 2017.
