Viola Davis was born August 11th, 1965 in Saint Matthews, South Carolina. She studied theater at Rhode Island College, and attended the Juilliard School in New York. Davis made her acting debut in 1996 in The Substance of Fire.
Viola Davis is best known for her performances in The Help, Prisoners, Suicide Squad, and Doubt. Her most recent role, 2016’s Fences, won her a Golden Globe award for ‘Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture.’ Her work in 2016’s How To Get Away With Murder earned her a Primetime Emmy. In 2012, Davis also received a BET Award for ‘Best Actress.’
