Vanessa Fernandez

Vanessa Fernandez is a Singapore-based disc jockey and musician. Her music spans the genres of rap, hip-hop, R&B, jazz, blues, and electronica, with many songs possessing a very typical ‘oldies’ sound. Her love of music is evident early on in life, where she began by singing in her local church choir. At only twelve, she and two other girls from her choir entered and won the Girl Groups category for Rolling Good Times.

Vanessa’s rise to fame came when she became one of the founding members of former hip-hop group, Urban Xchange (later known as Parking Lot Pimp). She was eighteen years old when she joined with fellow members Trisno Ishak, Munir Alsagoff, Michaela Therese, Terry Lee, Humma, Kimberly Olson, and Firdaus Bahri.

In 2013, along with Jason Tan, Vanessa released the duet album, Octover. The following year she had the unique opportunity to record a traditional vinyl record, entitled Use Me, at the infamous Ocean Way Recording Studio. Vanessa’s latest accomplishment is the release of her first EP, Vandetta, which features the hit single “Fly.”
