Born Nicholas Williams on September 23, 1987, Trinidad James is originally from Trinidad and Tobago, yet moved to the United States when he was very young. Though he was interested in basketball, he eventually pursued a career in rapping, which kicked off in late 2011. The debut single “All Gold Everything” – which was certified Gold in the United States – preceded the release of his album Don’t Be S.A.F.E., which he put out in the summer of 2012. He quickly signed a contract with Def Jam Records, later putting out a remix of the hit single with T.I., Young Jeezy, and 2 Chainz. He later released his second mixtape 10 PC Mild in the summer of 2013, and left Def Jam a year later.
