Contact / Musician

Tarrus Riley is a New-York-based Jamaican reggae performer and the son of reggae singer Jimmy Riley. Starting with being a Dj in his teen years, he has had a solo career and been a member of the bands the Uniques and the Techniques. On signing to the Yaman Records label, his debut album, “Challenges” (2004), was produced with the assistance of Jamaican saxophonist Dean Fraser.

Tarrus Riley has gone on to release six studio albums and produce videos, continuing to work in conjunction with producer Dean Fraser. He has won CVM’s 15th Anniversary Award for “Most Admired Song in the Past 15 Years” for “She’s Royal.” In 2007 he was named “Jamaica Observer Artiste of the Year,” and in 2011 won Youth View Awards for “Cultural Artiste of the Year.” His latest album “Contagious,” is so named because, as he jokes in interviews, “I want everyone to catch this album – it better than flu.”
