Taika Waititi was born in Wellington, New Zealand on August 16, 1975. He worked on the shorts John & Pogo, Two Cars, One Night, Heinous Crime and Tama Tu. He had writing credits for the TV series Flight of the Conchords, Brown Eyes, and Wellington Paranormal.
He is working on Jojo Rabbit, and We’re Wolves. He also produced the TV series The Inbetweeners. He worked as a director for Hunt for the Wilderpeople, video short Team Thor, Team Thor: Part 2, and the short Team Darryl.
He will also serve as the director for The Mandalorian which is currently filming. He is the executive producer of FafswagVogue.com, The Breakers Upperers, and What We Do in the Shadows. What We Do in the Shadows won several awards including the Jury Prize from the Torino Film Festival.
