Shohei Ohtani

Born in Oshu, Japan on July 5, 1994, Shohei Ohtani is known for being a designated hitter and pitcher. He made his debut on March 29, 2018. He was named as the American League Rookie of the Year in 2018. He was also the Rookie of the Month for April and September of the same year. He plays for the Los Angeles Angels, but before he decided to sign with the team, he has been a player for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. He has been part of the Nippon Professional Baseball All-Star five times and he is a two-time Pacific league Pitcher Best Nine. Ohtani also earned the Japan Professional Sports Grand Prize two times, and he was the WBSC Player of the year in 2015.
