Shirley MacLaine

Shirley MacLaine, born Shirley MacLaine Beatty on the 24th of April 1934 in Virginia and is an American actress, dancer, singer, activist and author. With six Academy Award nominations and one win for her work in Terms of Endearment, the actress has also received an AFI Life Achievement Award and has been present in Hollywood since 1955.

The sister of actor, director and writer, Warren Beatty, the actress’s career began in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1955 film, The Trouble With Larry, a role for which she won a Golden Globe. Some of the actresses best known films include, 1960’s romantic comedy, The Apartment, the comedy, Irma la Douce, 1977’s dance film, The Turning Point, 2008’s Coco Chanel as the titular character and the 2011 black comedy Bernie in which she portrayed Marjorie alongside Jack Black and Matthew McConaughey.
