Shai is an American R&B quartet formed in 1991 in Washington D.C. They are best known for their debut single “If I Ever Fall in Love” which charted at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. The current members of the group are Darnell Van Rensalier, George Spencer III, Garfield A. Bright, and Dwayne Jones. They released their debut album in 1992 titled …If I Ever Fall In Love. The album was certified triple-platinum and charted at number six on the Billboard 200 and the Billboard R&B Albums chart. They have since released the albums and EPs Right Back At Cha, Blackface, Destiny, Back From The Mystery System, Love Cycle: Back From the Mystery System, Worldwide, and Musically Yours. They have also released four compilation albums. The group has released their music through the labels Gasoline Alley/MCA, Big Play, Shai Music, 9 World Wide, and Fight 4 Mu.
