Sergio Aguero is an Argentine professional footballer born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on June 2, 1988. He is currently a striker for Premier League club Manchester City and the Argentine national team. He started his career at nine years old playing in the youth program at Independiente. In 2003 he became the youngest player to debut in the division at 15 years old when he was sent on the field as a substitute. He played for Independiente until 2006. In 2006 he joined the Spanish club Atletico Madrid. He played with Atletico Madrid until 2011. He signed a five-year contract with Manchester City in 2011. That same year he made his League Cup debut. In 2014 he signed a five-year extension contract with Manchester City to play with them until 2019. Aguero started playing with the Argentine national team in 2004 for the under 17 team. He played with the national under 20 team from 2005 to 2007 and was with the under 23 team in 2008. In 2006 he started playing as a senior for the Argentina national team, making his debut in a friendly game against Brazil. Aguero represented Argentina in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2005 and 2007, the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the 2011 Copa America, the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the 2015 Copa America, the Copa America Centenario, and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
