Ryn Weaver

Indie pop singer-songwriter Ryn Weaver was born Erin Michelle Wuthrich on August 10, 1992 in Salta, Argentina. Weaver studied musical theater, painting, acting, and music at Canyon Crest Academy in San Diego, California. She moved to New York City to attend New York University’s Tisch School of Arts and pursue an acting career. She eventually dropped out and moved back to California.

Weaver connected with producer Benny Blanco and was signed to his subsidiary of Interscope Records, Friends Keep Secrets. She posted her single, “OctaHate,” on her Soundcloud account in June 2014, and it was an overnight sensation. It reached number one on the Billboard Emerging Artists chart and number 27 on the US Mainstream Top 40 chart. Her debut EP, “Promises,” was released in August 2014. Her full-length debut album, “The Fool,” was released in June 2015. It reached number 30 on the Billboard Top 200, number seven on the Billboard Top Alternative Albums chart, and number eight on the Billboard Top Digital Albums chart. She was on the bill for Lollapalooza in August 2015.
