Contact / Guitarist

Robby Krieger is best known as the guitarist and songwriter for the legendary rock band The Doors. Krieger first studied guitar in his off time while attending a Menlo Park, California boarding school. Inspired by such guitarists as Wes Montgomery, Albert King, and Larry Carlton, Krieger developed his style and in 1965 became one of the original members of The Doors. After Jim Morrison’s death in 1971, Krieger and the remaining band tried to carry on as a trio but disbanded in 1973.

Robby Krieger wrote some of The Doors’ biggest hits, including “Light My Fire,” “Love Me Two Times,” “Touch Me,” and “Love Her Madly.” Since The Doors, he’s sporadically released solo project albums starting in 1977, and collaborated with other artists such as the Butts Band, Blue Öyster Cult, and Gov’t Mule. At the turn of the century, Krieger revived The Doors with new lead singer Ian Astbury from the band The Cult. As recently as 2010, he has released a solo album titled “Singularity.”
