Rob Minkoff

Robert Minkoff was born on August 11, 1962 in Palo Alto, California. He attended the California Institute of the Arts and he worked in the Animation Department. Walt Disney hired him to work on The Black Cauldron, which was released in 1985. He also worked on The Great Mouse Detective (1986), The Brave Little Toaster (1987), Oliver & Company (1988), and The Little Mermaid (1989).

He is well known for his work on animated feature films. In 1994, he won a Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Animation in The Lion King. He continued to direct several other animated classics throughout his career such as Stuart Little (1999), Stuart Little 2 (2002), and Mr. Peabody & Sherman (2014). He is currently working on Blazing Samurai and a Netflix animation of Llama Llama.
