Reekado Banks, born as Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, was born on December 6, 1993 in Lagos, Nigeria. He started writing songs at the age of 15 while his older brother taught him how to make and record his own music. He began to produce music professionally, and in 2013 he caught the eye of Mavin Records during a talent search. He was selected out of five thousand entries to become signed by the label. This led him to release singles such as “Turn It Up ft Tiwa Savage” and “Chop Am” in 2014. He has won the titles of Rookie of the Year (2014) and Next Rated (2015) at The Headies, and Most Promising Act of the Year (2015) at the City People Entertainment Awards.
