Mo’Nique is a comedian and actress, born December 11th, 1967 in Baltimore, Maryland as Monique Imes. She had her first break in comedy when appearing in 1989 on It’s Showtime At The Apollo.
Mo’Nique is best known, however, for her portrayals of Nikki Parker in television series The Parkers, and as Mary in the film Precious. Her performance as Nikki parker earned her four Image Awards. For her role in Precious, Mo’Nique received a Golden Globe, BET Award, Critic’s Choice, Gold Derby, Image, and Satellite Award.
Mo’Nique also appears in Almost Christmas, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, Soul Plane, and Good Fences.
