Actress and model Mischa Barton was born in Hammersmith, London, on January 24, 1986. When she was very young, her family was transferred to New York City through her father’s job, and shortly after she began a career as an off-Broadway actress. In 1997, Mischa Barton made her movie debut in the 1997 film Lawn Dogs, and was praised for her talent as a young actress. She would go on to act in Notting Hill as well as The Sixth Sense in 1999. During the 1990s, Mischa Barton would enjoy sporadic performances in various soap operas and television series, including in All My Children and Once and Again.

2003 saw her overnight rise to fame as she was cast as Marissa Cooper in the Fox television series The O.C., a role which gained her much recognition and established a huge teen fan base. After leaving the show in 2006, Mischa Barton began modeling for a variety of companies, including for Dooney & Bourke, Calvin Klein, bebe, Keds, and many others. She has also tried her hand at fashion design, and has released a line of headbands as well as handbags.
