Michael Phelps

Michael Fred Phelps II better known as Michael Phelps was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 30, 1985. He won eight gold medals in the 2008 Olympic Games held in Beijing, China. He broke the world record for seven events he participated in.

During the 2000 Olympic Games, he placed fifth in men’s 200-meter butterfly. He won his first international title in Japan in 2001. In the 2002 Pan Pacific Championships, he bagged three gold medals.

Phelps also won six gold medals during the 2004 Olympic Games held in Athens, Greece. He won seven gold medals during the 2007 World Championships held in Melbourne, Australia.

During the 2012 Olympics, he won four gold medals and two silver medals. He also appeared in the 2016 Olympic Games and won five gold medals and one silver medal.
