Mena Massoud, born September 17th, 1991 in Cairo Egypt, is a Canadian actor. With an education from Ryerson University, the actor originally intended to become a neuroscientist. His first roles included guest parts in Nikita, Poser and Combat Hospital, before he got the role of Hafiz the Preserver, Dave and Saad in the hot show The 99.
In film the actor has held roles in Ordinary Days and Strange but True, currently best known for playing Jared Malik in 2015’s television show Open Heart, alongside Justin Kelly, Tori Anderson and Sasha Clements. Massoud is next set to play Tarek Kassar in the web series Jack Ryan alongside John Krasinski and Abbie Cornish. In 2019, Massoud is set to play Aladdin in the remake of Disney’s hit film of the same name.
