Meat Loaf is the stage name of the American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor Michael Lee Aday. He was born in Dallas, Texas on September 27, 1947. Meat Loaf is best known for his Bat Out of Hell trilogy albums that have sold over 50 million copies worldwide. The album Bat Out of Hell is one of the best selling albums in history and still sells around 200k albums annually. He released his debut studio album in 1971 titled Stoney & Meatloaf and has since released the albums Bat Out of Hell, Dead Ringer, Midnight at the Lost and Found, Bad Attitude, Blind Before I Stop, Welcome to the Neighbourhood, Hang Cool Teddy Bear, Hell in a Handbasket and more. He has released 13 studio albums, 6 live albums, 18 compilation albums, and 9 video albums. Aday has sold over 80 million worldwide and has had a number of his albums certified gold, platinum, and diamond. He made his debut in film in 1975 in the movie The Rocky Horror Picture Show and continued landing roles in the films Americathon, Roadie, Motorama, Wayne’s World, Leap of Faith, Gunshy, Black Dog, Outside Ozone, Crazy in Alabama, Focus, Wishcraft and others. In 1978 he made his debut on television as a musical guest on the show Saturday Night Live. He has since made appearances and had roles in the television shows Monsters, Tales from the Crypt, The F Word, Hannity, House, Bookaboo, Monk, Glee, This Week and more.
