Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey was born on March 27th 1969 in New York and is an American singer and songwriter, noted for her incredible five octave vocal range, strength of vocals, melismatic style of singing and use of the whistle register in her music. With a career that began in 1988 with her self-titled debut album, the album reached the top of the US charts and she won her first Grammy Awards with the single Vision of Love.

Following her immediate success she recorded a second album, Emotions and went on to keep producing music, with her hit song All I Want for Christmas Is You being released in her album Merry Christmas, it became the most recognised holiday song in the US and has gone to quintuple platinum lengths. Most recently the artist has released another Christmas album and the hit album Me. I am Mariah….The Elusive Chanteuse.
