Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an Indian international cricketer born in Ranchi, India on July 7, 1981. He was the captain of the Indian national team from 2007 to 2016. While he was captain, India won the 2007-08 Commonwealth Bank Series, the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cups, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. He is considered one of the best finishers in limited-overs cricket and one of the best wicket-keepers in world cricket. In 2015 he was ranked at the 23rd highest paid athlete in the world by Forbes. He is the co-owner of the Indian Super League team Chennaiyin FC. A biopic was made about Dhoni in 2016 titled M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. A web series was also made in 2019 about his life and time with the Chennai Super Kings titled Roar Of The Lion. In 2007 he was awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award and the Padma Shri, and in 2008 and 2009 he was awarded the ICC ODI Player of the Year. He also holds a number of International Records. In 2016 he launched a lifestyle brand named SEVEN.
