Lil Tjay is the stage name of the American rapper Tione Merritt. He was born in The Bronx, NY on April 30, 2001 and grew up in the South Bronx. Growing up in that area had an influence on his rapping style and he incorporates Spanish in some of his songs. He gained popularity as a teenager with the release of his single “Resume” on SoundCloud in 2017. Lil Tjay has also released singles like “Brothers”, “Pop Out”, “Lucki”, “Leaked”, “Ride For You”, and others. He also recorded a song in 2017 in collaboration with Lil Tut titled “Don’t Gotta Explain.” Lil Tjay has a large following on Instagram with over 750k followers and on YouTube with 275k subscribers.
