Lance Gross was born on July 8, 1981 in Oakland, California. He trained at The Ivanna Chubbuck Studio and the Tasha Smith Acting Studio before starting his career as a model. He appeared in the background of music videos for Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Rihanna and Kelly Rowland. He landed minor parts in Eve and The Bernie Mac Show. Tyler Perry gave him his break and cast him in House of Payne, which earned Gross four NAACP Image Awards. He made his film debut in 2008’s Meet the Browns and later appeared in Our Family Wedding and The Last Fall.
