Laidback Luke

Luke van Scheppingen, better known by his stage name Laidback Luke, was born on October 22, 1976, in the Philippines, and later moved to Holland where he spent his childhood. Laidback Luke built a strong connection with music when he was very young, preferring to listen to hip-hop and music that had a strong beat. Good luck brought him to cross paths in the early 1990s with the Dutch DJ Dobre, who was performing at a party that Luke happened to attend. DJ Dobre took Luke under his wing and was a vital part of his release of his first 12″ single Loud Flava: Vol. 1 in 1995. He was able to make a name for himself with the follow-up Vol. 2 of the single, and began remixing the tracks of big name artists such as Daft Punk.

Laidback Luke is known for his flawless combination of techno and house music, and has performed at many sold-out shows. He recently began collaborating with EDM big names such as Diplo and Steve Aoki, and continues to remix the work of international superstars such as Madonna and Robin Thicke.
