Kim Taylor was born on December 20, 1973 in Miami, Florida. She is a singer-songwriter. Beginning her music career in 2002 at the age of 28, Taylor released her first album, So Black, So Bright, winning her the ‘New Artist of the Year’ award at the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards. She has gone on to produce 4 more albums, ‘I Feel Like a Fading Light’ (2006), ‘Live at Canal Street Tavern’ (2008), ‘Little Miracle’ (2010), and ‘Love’s a Dog’ (2013). During this time, she has won many more awards at the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards, including ‘Singer-Songwriter of the Year’ in 2004 and every year from 2006-2010. Much of Taylor’s music has been used in TV shows and movie soundtracks, including Smallville and My Brother’s War.
In 2013, Taylor had a career change, appearing in Matthew Porterfield’s independent film I Used to Be Darker (2013), making her debut as an actress. However, since 2014, Taylor has continued making music and touring the US with her songs. Her most recent album is Water and Sand, which was released in September of 2016.
