Justin Currie, born Justin Robert Currie on December 11th, 1964 in Glasgow, Scotland began his musical career while still in school.  He formed the band Del Amitri in the 1980’s and wrote many of their songs including “Nothing Ever Happens,” “Roll to Me,” and “Always the Last to Know.” They were signed to Mercury Records until 2002.

In 2003 he formed a soul and jazz cover band called Button Up. They toured Scotland along with The Proclaimers guitarist Stuart Nisbet and drummer Ross McFarlane. In 2004 Justin joined Scottish folk band Blazin’ Fiddles.

Justin continued to have a solo career while partaking in multiple bands. In 2005 he released a solo album What Is Love For which was released on the label Rykodisc. He released his second album in 2010 entitled The Great War and was lead with the single “A Man with Nothing to Do.” Justin’s third solo album, Lower Reaches, was released in 2013.  The single “Bend To My Will” charted at number 46 on the UK Albums Chart.
