Johnny Depp was born on June 9, 1963 in Owensboro, Kentucky. Depp got his first role in A Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984, following shortly thereafter by Private Resport, Thrashin’ and Platoon. He later had a starring role in 21 Jump Street in 1987. He famously starred in Edward Scissorhands and What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. Depp earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role in Ed Wood. In 1999, he starred in Sleepy Hollow with Christina Ricci before becoming a superstar after picking up the lead role in Pirates of the Caribbean, which earned him an Oscar nomination.
Depp also starred in Finding Neverland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride and the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels. His role in Sweeney Todd won him a Golden Globe as well as another Oscar nomination. He starred in Alice in Wonderland and its sequel. Depp also played Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
