John Legend, born John Roger Stephens on December the 28th 1978 is an American actor, musician, singer and songwriter. With a career that began in 2004 with his release of his debut album Get Lifted, he found himself thrust into fame as the album was certified gold, became an international success and won the Grammy Award for best R&B Album in 2006.
Going on to collaborate with Jay Z, Fort Minor and The Black Eyed Peas to name a few, he released more music, winning another Grammy for his song Heaven. More recently, he has dropped the album Darkness and Light and won an Academy Award for the song Glory which he performed and wrote for the film Selma. He has also won a total of ten Grammy Awards and a Golden Globe thus far.
