John Francis Daley is an American actor, screenwriter, comedian, and film director born in Wheeling, Illinois on July 20, 1985. He is best known for his role as Sam Weir on the show Freaks and Geeks and for his role as Dr. Lance Sweets on the show Bones. Daley started his career acting in the Broadway show The Who’s Tommy. In 1999 he made his debut on television in the show Freaks and Geeks and continued landing roles in the shows, Boston Public, The Geena Davis Show, The Ellen Show, Spin City, Regular Joe, Judging Amy, Kitchen Confidential, Stacked, Bones, Yo Gabba Gabba, The Finder, Bottom’s Butte, and Fresh Off the Boat. He made his debut in film in 2003 in the movie View from the Top and has since had roles in the films Waiting…, Burying the Ex, Horrible Bosses, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Rapture-Palooza, Dude Bro Party Massacre III, Vacation, 5-25-77, and Game Night. As a writer, director, and filmmaker, he is best known for his collaborative work with Jonathan Goldstein. Together they have worked on the films Horrible Bosses, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, Vacation, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Game Night, and The Flash.
