Jessie Reyez is a Canadian singer and songwriter born in Toronto, Canada on June 12, 1991. As a young kid she played the guitar and started writing songs while in high school. In 2014 she was accepted into The Remix Project’s Academy of Recording Artists. That same year she released a joint single with King Louie titled “Living in the Sky.” In 2016 she released her debut solo single titled “Figures”. The single reached number 58 on the Canadian Hot 100 and was certified 2x Platinum by Music Canada. She released her debut EP in 2017 titled Kiddo and also released a short film titled Gatekeeper. In 2018 she released her second EP titled Being Human in Public. She won a Juno Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and a SOCAN Songwriting Prize nomination for her song “Cotton Candy.” Reyez has been featured in the songs, “Lonely” by Arin Ray, “Hard to Love” by Calvin Harris, “Un Vuelo a La” by Romeo Santos, “Sacrifice” by Black Atlass, “Pretending” by A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and “Good Guy” and “Nice Guy” by Eminem.
