Jenji Kohan

Jenji Kohan was born Jenji Leslie Kohan on July the 5th 1969 in California and is an American writer and producer. With a degree in English language and literature from Columbia University, and began a career as a writer on the Will Smith starring show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and came to prominence with her work on the television show Tracey Takes On…

Coming to further prominence,  Kohan served as a producer and writer on the hit show, Gilmore Girls and then wrote the film, The Stones before coming to widespread prominence as the creator, executive producer and writer of the hit television show Weeds before creating, writing and executive producing the hit television show Orange Is the New Black for Netflix.
