Iron Maiden

Iron Maiden are a British heavy metal band formed in East London, England. The band’s membership consists of Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Bruce Dickinson, Nicko McBrain, and Janick Gers.  They came together on Christmas day in 1979.

In 1979 the group released its first EP called The Soundhouse EP. The EP was limited, but sold all copies. Iron Maiden signed a deal with EMI and released their self-titled debut album in 1980. The album was a critical success. In 1981 they followed up with the album called Killers. Iron Maidens first groundbreaking album came in 1982 with the release of The Number of the Beast. The album is now known as one of the greatest rock albums of all time. The album became a chart topping and top selling album in the UK and several other countries.

Iron Maiden has gone on to continued international success. The group has released over 38 albums with a mix of studio, live, EPs and some compilation albums. The band has sold over 100 million copies of their albums worldwide and has won an Ivor Novello Award for International achievement in 2002.
