Gloria Estefan

Gloria Estefan was born in Havana, Cuba and left Cuba at a young age. In 1975 Estefan met Emilio Estefan her future husband. He was the leader of the band Miami Latin Boys.  He asked her to be the lead singer of the band, eventually changing their name to Miami Sound Machine. The band recorded its first album called Renacer in Spanish. Between the years 1981 and 1983 the band created four more albums in Spanish, however, they had very little success in the US. Their first hit in the North America was ‘Congo’. The 1985 album Primitive Love was their first album entirely in English. One of their most popular hits ‘The Rhythm is Going to Get You’ was on their album Let it Loose and made it to the Billboard’s top 10.
