Giraffage is the stage name of producer Charlie Yin, of Taiwanese descent, who operates out of San Jose, California. he produces electronic dance tracks with a dream-pop style and a J-pop influence. He got his start in the chiptune genre releasing three self-produced albums online between 2009 and 2011. Continuing to explore the digital music frontier, he soon earned acclaim from review blogs. He eventually signed with French label Kitsuné and released another project in collaboration with Florida producer XXYYXX.
Giraffage has received critical acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork magazine for his remixes and demos, including songs by artists such as Janet Jackson, Alice DeeJay, R. Kelly, and Odesza. He is most recently signed to Alpha Pup Records, and has performed at venues including The Treasure Island Music Festival 2013 and The Brooklyn Electronic Music U.S. Festival.
