Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale is a Welsh professional footballer born in Cardiff, Wales on July 16, 1989. He is currently a winger for the Spanish club Real Madrid and the Wales national team. Bale started his soccer career on the youth teams Cardiff Civil Service and Southampton. In 2006, at 16 years old, he made his professional debut as the youngest player to ever play for Southampton. Bale signed a four-year contract with the club Tottenham Hotspur in 2007 and played with them until 2013. In 2013 he was transferred to the Spanish club Real Madrid and signed a six-year contract with the team. He made his debut with Real Madrid against Villarreal. In 2016 he signed a new contract with Real Madrid that has him set to play with the team until 2022. Bale scored his 100th goal for Real Madrid on February 9, 2019. From 2005 to 2008 Bale played on the Wales under 17, under 19, and under 21 national team. In 2006 he started playing on the Wales senior national team.
