Garcelle Beauvais is a Haitian-American actress and former fashion model born in Saint-Marc, Haiti on September 26, 1966. She is best known for her roles on the television shows The Jamie Foxx Show and NYPD Blue. Beauvais started her modeling career at 17 years old after moving to New York City. She was signed with Ford Models and Irene Marie Models in Miami and modeled for the brands and companies Avon, Mary Kay, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and more. In 1984 she made her debut on television in the show Miami Vice and continued landing roles in the shows Family Matters, Down the Shore, Dream On, Where I Live, Models Inc., The Wayans Bros., The Jamie Foxx Show, Opposite Sex, Titans, NYPD Blue, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Eyes, Crash, Psych, Grimm and more. She made her debut in film in 1986 in the movie Manhunter and has since had roles in the films Coming to America, Double Take, American Gun, Women in Trouble, Flight, White House Down, Small Time, A Girl Like Grace and others. In 2013 she received an Honorary Award from the Motion Picture Association of Haiti.
