Flea is an Australian-American musician and actor born in Melbourne, Australia on October 16, 1962. He is best known as the bass player and only constant member of the band Red Hot Chili Peppers. Flea has also played the bass guitar for the bands Fear, Jane’s Addiction, and What Is This? and played with the supergroups Pigface, Antemasque, Rocket Juice & the Moon, and Atoms for Peace. He also played the trumpet live with Nirvana in 1993. In 1983 he helped form the band Red Hot Chili Peppers with classmates from Fairfax High School. Together they released 11 studio albums, 12 compilation albums, 8 video albums, 5 EPs, and three live albums. The band holds the record for most number one singles, most cumulative weeks at number one, and most top-10 songs on the Billboard Alternative Song chart. They are one of the best-selling bands of all time and have sold over 80 million records worldwide. They have won six Grammy Awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. As an actor, Flea made his acting debut in 1984 in the film Suburbia and continued landing roles in the films and shows Tough Guys, Dudes, Stranded, The Blue Iguana, Son in Law, The Chase, Low Down, and more. He has acted in more than 20 shows and films.
